Framer now supports Right-to-Left (RTL) layout direction, making it easier to build for locales that read from right to left, like Arabic and Hebrew. The change is automatic for new projects and can be enabled for existing ones.

Key updates & usage:

  • Layouts in Stacks and Grids automatically flip direction when viewed in an RTL locale.
  • For existing projects, toggle Layout Direction in Settings to apply RTL.
  • A new Layout Direction Variable lets you adjust properties on the canvas based on the active direction (LTR vs. RTL).
  • The feature is enabled by default in all new projects, no extra setup needed.

This makes Framer more inclusive and ready for global interfaces by removing the need for complex variants or manual layout flips.
